കേര എന്നത് thunnus എന്ന ജെനുസ്സിൽ പെട്ട എട്ടോളം വർഗ്ഗങ്ങൾക്ക് പൊതുവേ പറയുന്ന പേരാണ്. മലങ്കര-മലബാർ പ്രദേശങ്ങളിൽ കുടുത, കേര, കുടുക്ക, വെള്ള കേര എന്നും ഇവ അറിയപെടുന്നു.
Tuna is the common name for eight species of the genus Thunnus. In the Malankara-Malabar region, they are also know as Kututha, Kera, Kutukka and White Kera.
